You study subjects
What do you study in a university?
You study majors (careers) and
a major = career subjects (major) + general subjects

Lima university, San Marcos Univerity, UTP (PTU = Peruvian Technological Univeristy)
What is your major? --> It is industrial engineering/ psychology.
 Careers or majors = medicine, psycholology, education, architecture, etc.

Watch out!

    a doctor's career  is  medicine

    a teacher's major is education

    a lawyer's major is law, etc.
