LEARNING STRATEGIES

For next month:
Study appendixes 12 to 18
which are related to the units about infinitives and gerunds
Procedure
1. You need your book, a device with internet access to the oxford learners dictionary
check word by word: pronunciation, definition (there might be more 1 definition), examples
gimmick: repeat the example minimum 3 times out loud

1 appendix per day

There is some research on brain studies that has discovered that a normal student should repeat or use meaningfully (in context) each item he/she learns minimum 8 times, but since I considerer that you , my dear beloved students, ARE potential and special , I suggest the key number could be  3.

Another important fact that is very obvious , but infernally difficult to realize, is that your brain needs to hear your voice repeating the utterances (sentences) so it could memorize better.

The last piece of advice is that you should consider language as a set of chunks/formats that should be discovered , organized , and memorized: Look up for the situations in which you most likely will find that expression and discover it. So, do not translate word by word, unless you have a teacher to tell you that it is right.

He took my hair.
He pulled my leg.

- to master the use of modification of nouns using

about the ghost , what is your horror experience, most
What is your worst experience with ghosts?
First of all, let's put it clear. I think there are no ghosts going around. According to my beliefs, in the Bible,  only demonic entities dwell the Earth disguising and luring people.
The worst experience is when my brother got sick with asthma and he couldn't breath very well. The fourth day, I offered my parents to watch over my brother to see if he was breathing while he was asleep. I laid down next to him with my ear close to his nose and with my alarm clock , beeping every 4 minutes not to fall asleep. There was a moment when I , on my right ear, felt a warm and heavy breath inhaling and exhaling , which paralized Mr. Jaramillo to his bones. I didn't know what to do; I was about to run, but my first reaction was to take the cover sheets and cover my brother and me holding him tight. I couldn't leave him. I was just waiting for the worst!!!! The next day, he was on his feet sound and well: a miracle.
In retrospect, I strongly believe that the Reaper came that night to take my brother and felt compassion of me  holding him tight not letting him go.
