ADJECTIVES AND ADJECTIVE CLAUSES
An adjective  is a quality that describes or explains what a noun is about
adjective + noun  --> that pretty girl

Nouns in a sentence
a. subject
b. subject complement
c. direct object
d. indirect object
e. object of preposition

a. That girl is a doctor.
b. That doctor is a girl!
c. I like that girl very much.
d. I write poems to that girl every day.
e. I am interested in that girl very much.

a. That pretty girl is a doctor.
b. That doctor is a pretty girl!
c. I like that pretty girl very much.
d. I write poems to that pretty girl every day.
e. I am interested in that pretty girl very much.

adjective + noun  --> that pretty girl
noun + adjective clause
--> that girl who lives next door
--> that girl whom I see every day
COMBINING 2 SENTENCES
That girl is a doctor. + The girl (subject) lives next door.
That girl who lives next door is a doctor.
That girl that lives next door is a doctor.

That girl is a doctor. + I see her (not the subject) every day.
           Step 1.            That girl I see whom every day is a doctor. + .
           Step 2.            That girl whom I see every day is a doctor.
That girl whom I see every day is a doctor.
That girl who I see every day is a doctor.
That girl that I see every day is a doctor.
That girl ----- I see every day is a doctor.
             (We can erase the relative pronoun because it is not the subject nor is it essential)

b. That doctor is a girl who lives next door !
c. I like that girl who lives next door very much.

e. I am interested in that girl who lives next door very much.

a. That pretty girl who lives next door is a doctor.

IDENTIFYING vs. NON-IDENTIFYING
1. NON-IDENTIFYING DOES NOT INDENTIFY.
2. IDENTIFYING IDENTIFIES THE NOUN A LITTLE OR COMPLETELY.

That girl who lives next door is a doctor. (IDENTIFYING)

Eva, who studies at ICPNA , is a student. (NON-IDENTIFYING)
s       + v      + c
Luis who is wearing black jeans is sitting in the class. (There is more than one Luis in the class)

Exercise C. Defining or Identifying
